Xenofon Karakonstantis
Senior DSP & ML Engineer
Oticon (Demant)

Xenofon Karakonstantis is Senior DSP & ML engineer at Oticon (Demant), where he designs ultra-low-latency, on-device speech-denoising and source-separation algorithms for hearing instruments.
From 2024 he was a postdoctoral researcher with the Audio-Visual Computing Group at the IT University of Copenhagen, following a 2020–24 PhD in DTU’s Acoustic Technology Group where he worked on physics-informed generative and graph-neural models for large-scale sound-field reconstruction. He also conducted visiting research at Politecnico di Milano’s Image & Sound Processing Lab (2023).
His work has earned the ASA Computational Acoustics Early-Career Presenter Award and the EAA Young-Researcher Best Paper & Presentation Award (both 2023) and grants from the Otto Monsted Foundation and the Danish Sound Cluster.
As an active community member, Xenofon serves as a peer reviewer for the Journal of the Acoustical Society of America (JASA); Engineering Applications of Artificial Intelligence (EAAI); IEEE/ACM Transactions on Audio, Speech and Language Processing (TASLP); the IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing (ICASSP); and the IEEE Workshop on Applications of Signal Processing to Audio and Acoustics (WASPAA) among others.
