Simon Kersten is a researcher at the Institute for Hearing Technology and Acoustics at RWTH Aachen University in Germany. His work focuses on vibroacoustic modeling of the auditory system, with the goal of advancing our understanding of self-perception phenomena in the context of hearing technologies such as hearing aids and hearing protectors. Since beginning his PhD in 2020, he has also been an active member of the development team of pyfar, an ecosystem of Python packages for acoustics research.
