Romain Rumpler is an associate professor at the Department of Engineering Mechanics, KTH Royal Institute of Technology (KTH), Sweden. He completed his PhD in 2012, in engineering mechanics and acoustics, conducted as a joint PhD between the National Conservatory of Arts and Crafts (Cnam), Paris, and KTH, on the topic of efficient modelling of sound-absorbing porous materials in structural-acoustics applications. With research interests on efficient modelling of large structural-acoustic problems, design optimization, acoustic materials or metamaterials, and transportation noise, he currently also leads the KTH research Centre for Eco² Vehicle Design, as its deputy director.
