Senior Researcher
Schlumberger
Evren Yarman is an Interpretation Engineering Manager and Principal Scientist at Schlumberger’s Riboud Product Center where he leads the development of advanced digital solutions for automated monitoring, advisory, and control systems in drilling and subsurface operations. With a multidisciplinary background spanning mathematics, electrical engineering, biomedical science, and geophysics, Dr. Yarman has held research and leadership roles across Schlumberger’s global centers in the U.S., U.K., and France. His work focuses on the intersection of mathematical physics, computational mathematics, modeling and inversion, particularly in real-time sensing, detection, estimation, stochastic control, and inverse uncertainty quantification.
Dr. Yarman holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and has taught, given seminars, and collaborated with institutions such as Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, University of Colorado at Boulder, University of Texas at Austin, Rice University, University of Cambridge, University of Bath, University of Edinburgh, and KTH Royal Institute of Technology. He is a published author of numerous peer-reviewed articles and book chapters, and holds multiple patents in imaging and signal processing technologies. In addition to mentoring graduate students and junior engineers, Dr. Yarman serves as an associate editor for Signal, Image and Video Processing and reviews for several prestigious journals in applied mathematics, electrical and electronic engineering, and geosciences.
